Happy Wednesday, friends! It's been an interesting week around our house as it's my last week of work and I'm scrambling to get everything in order. It feels extremely bittersweet to be done working.
I've always said I don't think I am one of those moms that can stay home with their kids everyday. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my babies and spending time with them but I know that I will need consistent time for myself each week. I'm hoping it works out that I'll have a little bit of help - it's better for me and for them.
l also love the feeling of being able to be something other than a mom. Mom's are literally superheros and our job is not to be taken lightly and certainly doesn't pay enough ;-) but I need to have something outside of the kids and the house that I can put energy into.. It's one of the reasons I started the blog, among many others, and it's been something I've taken pride in.
If you're local to Grand Rapids you need to check out the new and improved Airport Viewing Park at the Gerald R. Ford Airport. It's been a parking lot, literally, for the past few decades and over the last four years, I've been working with the Foundation I worked for on a multi-million dollar capital campaign to enhance the space by adding a permanent pavilion, restrooms and picnic tables and benches. It's finally finished and I feel so accomplished to have been a huge part of bringing this vision to reality. Tonight is the grand opening and I can step away knowing I did what I was hired to do.
My next passion project is just 6 months young, this blog, and I can't wait to see where it takes me. I've already met and connected with so many local and non-local bloggers and style enthusiasts and I'm so proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and taking this leap!
Now on to the good stuff, this adorable outfit! This sweater halter top is just $29 and comes in three colors - and I want all of them! It runs true to size and dresses up distressed denim just perfectly! Let's talk about this necklace! When I picked it up I already had it in my mind that it was going to be at least $100 and more than I wanted to spend on a necklace. To my surprise it was only $59! I couldn't believe it and knew immediately it was coming home with me. It's such a fun statement piece and would look great with just a t-shirt as well! Last year I got rid of a ton of my jewelry at a garage sale so I'm excited to add to my collection again.
