Hi.

Welcome to Annie Rose Clothes, where I share a look into my personal style and hope to inspire others to express themselves through style.

Holy smokes, it's been one helluva week. Between the 4th of July holiday, a severe storm knocking out power for 3 days, and my husband taking vacation last week, we are all outta sorts!   If you didn't tune into my Instagram stories last the last few days, let me give you a little picture of what's been going on around here! About 3:00am on Friday morning a massive storm barreled through with a torrential downpour, 70mph winds, hail and a ton of damage! Once the storm hit, the power quickly went out and I could have sworn the windows were going to blow in! I ran out of the bedroom to wake up my husband (who had fallen asleep on the couch watching a baseball game) and took a peek outside through the front door window. Our flag was snapped in half and hanging on by a thread. John ran outside to try and dislodge it because we were afraid it would rip the siding off. Shortly after that, we heard an extremely loud crash and John opened the garage door that leads to the house to find that the garage door took a major gust of wind and bowed in like a "V"! I looked out the back window and our boat which was tied to the dock with 2 ropes hours before, was now dangling from the dock support pole and taking on water. It quickly capsized and all of John's fishing equipment and cooler took off in the wind. John was sure the boat would de-tatch and sink so he ran out in what literally could have been a tornado, and pulled the boat to shore where it would be safe through the remainder of the storm. I can't begin to tell you the random floats, rafts, cushions, garbage, boats, trampolines, chairs and so many other items that were flying around the back yard. It took some serious effort and lots of Facebook messaging for everything to find it's original owner! Thank goodness no one was hurt and the damage can all be repaired. We were left without power for the three following days and on the morning of day two my husband drove an hour to pick up the only generator we could get our hands on. The items in the refrigerator were fading fast and if I hadn't just gone grocery shopping I would have pitched everything. I figured he was going to spend the same amount of money on a generator that I would re-stocking the refrigerator and at least we'd come out with something that could save us from this issue if the power ever went out again. By 6pm on Sunday the power was restored and it felt like Christmas morning! I will say that we had a lot of fun with the neighbors (which we always do) during the outage. We were outside from 8am until the sun went down and the kids were run ragged! We pooled our food together and had a BBQ with anything and everything that was about to spoil and cocktail'd until the wee hours of the night. Although I wouldn't wish a power outage again, we made the best of it! And now on to Monday! We finally have internet back and I am excited to share this gorgeous magenta dress with you! It fit like a glove (runs tts) and has the prettiest cross-detail in the back. The color is absolutely gorgeous for summer and can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with a jean jacket and sandals! Ah, almost forgot to mention that it's $35!!! Can you believe that!? Last time I checked a couple of sizes were already sold out so I'd say you should get movin' if you're interested!   I hope everyone is back on the grind this Monday morning and ready for a new week! Cheers to new opportunities for fun, memories and accomplishments!
